Sex toys and pregnancy
Perhaps I am lucky, as pregnancy did not cause me to become fat, nervous and capricious. Actually, I remained the same as I had been before I got pregnant, of course, with the only difference, I mean my belly. In fact I didn't change much, I was interested in many things which had nothing to do with babies and pregnancy and I still needed sex.
Naturally I wondered whether I could continue having sex with my husband and whether I could use my sex toys when he was away. I forgot to say that I have very high libido, and I do suffer from frustration when I do not have sex for a long time. Being worried about this matter I applied to my physician and this is what she said.
In fact a woman with normal pregnancy can have sex and experience orgasms without being worried about the baby and general course of pregnancy. What is more, sex during pregnancy might have even some advantages such as exercising of the womb to make it ready for labor or tension relief. However, there are no studies dealing with sex toys, for instance with dildos and vibrators specifically. At the same time there are no studies proving negative effects of vibrator or dildo use during pregnancy.
Thus doctors consider use of sex toys during pregnancy to be as safe as vaginal intercourse. But only with one condition: a woman must be absolutely healthy, otherwise orgasm might cause premature labor. That is why it cannot be definitely said, whether this or that particular woman can use sex toys or not. Any pregnant woman should discuss this matter with her physician. If you have history of premature labor or history of infections during pregnancy, than perhaps you will not be recommended to have sex and to use sex toys.
Every pregnancy is unique, that is why you should not do anything without discussing the matter with your doctor. Enjoy happy pregnancy!
